Moira describes herself as an “old nurse who was eager to learn new tricks,” when she joined Footcare by Nurses four years ago. She’d worked in hospitals, for hospice, as a school nurses, and she was ready for a change. Because her father, who had diabetes, experienced an amputation that might have been prevented, she was receptive to the Footcare by Nurses Mission of preventative care. She knew that a small nick in the skin care can lead to infection among people with circulation problems, like her dad, and she wanted to be part of an organization dedicated to the care of feet, especially among the elderly.
